Job Description

This is still at the core of the Gardens mission to Connect People with Plants.

The Garden, a charity with HRH The Prince of Wales as Patron, has a turnover of over £800,000 and attracted around 50,000 visitors between April and October each year.

We are looking for a Marketing Manager who will play a pivotal role in the promotion of the Garden. Well organised and self-motivated with good all round visitor attraction marketing skills is required to lead and develop the Gardens marketing strategy.

The Marketing Manager is a full-time position, 35 hours per week, however part-time or flexible working may be considered for the right applicant. Annual leave allowance is 25 days per annum, plus bank holidays; and a 3% contributory pension is offered.

Proactive and use to working in a small busy office, the Marketing Manager will be key to delivering corporate objectives and support revenue raising activities. A proven track record in developing venue hire, preferably in the heritage sector, is desirable.

The success candidate will have a chance to experience the various aspects of working in a small botanic garden, gaining experience in all aspects of marketing for a small and dynamic charity. The Garden receives no public funding and therefore relies on income from admissions, a Friends membership scheme, and commercial operations that include catering, retail and venue hire.
