My client is a leading global activation agency and they are looking for a senior planner with integrated and sales promotion experience to work on global blue chip clients including telecoms and fmcg.
The main responsibilities are:
Take responsibility for the strategic input on major business challenge briefs, hold internal think tanks, identify or generate customer/shopper insights, craft relevant strategy, issue the creative brief and then be an objective voice, adding value as creative work develops.
Be capable of writing and delivering the strategic aspect of presentations.
Champion all strategic initiatives suggested by the client from Estate Segmentation Strategy to Local Store Marketing, liaising with the team to guide and shape our thinking
Proactively suggest new marketing initiatives as appropriate
Monthly Retail Briefs
Add value to monthly retail briefs issued by client in terms of customer insights and message management, working closely with creative to ensure that simple and effective retail
messages are delivered at the relevant points in the customer journey
General
Stay abreast of all trends in relation to mobile telecommunications and retail including macro economic developments, competitor activity, changing consumer mindsets/behaviour, brand evolution and best-in-class communications: be an expert in field
Share this knowledge regularly with the team and creative to ensure the agency works smarter and more strategically
Oversee all members of the team in terms of brief writing, creative briefing sessions and feedback including mentoring where necessary
Facilitate client and team brainstorms as required using appropriate techniques
Liaise with Research Managers to advise and input on current research projects to ensure they meet agency knowledge requirements
Meet and forge strong working relationships with planners from all other agencies to contribute to and share best practice thinking and represent the retail voice and influence appropriately
Forge high-level working relationships with clients based on knowledge, respect and in the spirit of enjoying working together
Develop a partnership with creative head to ensure best in class retail communications
Experience and Knowledge:
At least 5 years solid UK planning experience
Agency background is ideal, either below the line or integrated
Experience working on high street/retail clients
Solid understanding of retail communications and the customer journey
Exposure to a broad array of the marketing mix including relevant retail mediums
Experience working at senior client contact level is essential
Avid follower of industry trends
Ideally has some telecoms experience
