Product Development Manager / Product Manager

Our client is a leading provider of fresh prepared foods and produce. Their operations cover 10 countries and they employ over 19,000 people to supply over 6,000 products in 18 fresh prepared food categories and a variety of fresh produce categories which are sold predominantly under their customers' own brands. Thier businesses share a common goal - to manufacture and supply world-class fresh prepared foods and produce to the global marketplace.
They are currently seeking an innovative and inspiring Product Development Manager to develop and manage a range of products for the UK's major food retailers through to launch, whilst building strong external and internal business relationships. Using the principles of category management and critical path analysis you will pioneer new products and processes, to budget, quality and timescale, ahead of the competitors and inline with the consumers needs whilst motivating your team to develop and improve. In addition you will monitor, benchmark and communicate product quality to resolve issues and agree action plans.
The successful candidate will have experience in a similar role within a FMCG environment working with major retailers within the UK. Confident and fully literate with IT you will have excellent communication skills both verbally and written to present facts and ideas to others across the business and to successfully people manage a team of technologists. You will have a good knowledge of food trends and culinary skills and hold a full UK driving license. Experience within a chilled food arena would be advantageous.
