Job Description

My client is the UK's leading player in their area who operate within the construction, building materials and engineering market. They are a well established PLC that are part of a major international group. The business is in a strong position and this initially stand alone marketing role represents an exciting opportunity for a career minded individual who will be looking for the next progressive step in their career.

The Marketing Manager will build and deliver a solid marketing and brand strategy. They will be responsible for preparing and implementing the company's marketing plans in order to maximise business returns in its core business divisions.

Responsibilities will include:-

  • Identification and evaluation of target markets and development of effective strategies to communicate to them
  • Execute creative communication campaigns' which will positively influence strategies, contractors, distributors and installers
  • Together with the General Managers and sales teams manage the marketing mix
  • Research and report on new product opportunities
  • Develop new products in conjunction with the General Managers and sales teams
  • Market analysis to support the innovation process
  • Develop and prepare the marketing plan and strategy
  • Manage and brief all external marketing agencies
  • Support and deliver the sales plans

Who we're looking for

The successful candidate will have:-

  • Degree qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional qualification
  • Management experience in a marketing role preferably within a construction products or engineering related environment
  • Team, service and customer orientated
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills
  • Ability to prioritise, delegate and multi-task
  • Proven track record in delivering measurable results
  • Be hands-on with the ability to think, act and work creatively
  • Comprehensive experience of the marketing mix, including brand planning, advertising and media, digital and new product development from idea, research, to implementation
  • Strong communicator both written and spoken
  • Excellent computer skills and awareness of social media and digital communications
  • Good general interest in, and awareness of, business and corporate responsibility issues. with proven ability
