Information Architect / UI Architect (New Media) London £45K
Client: Syzygy
Position: Information Architect
Location: Office is located in Hatton Garden, in the heart of Midtown between Holborn and Clerkenwell
Salary: £30-45K Basic

COMPANY:
Syzygy is a top five European interactive agency based in London (90 employees), Hamburg (45 employees) and Frankfurt (110 employees). They have been designing and building sites for blue-chip clients for over 12 years. They know this marketplace as well as any agency you may be interested in working for, if not better.
ROLE:
Syzygy's Information Architects deal with the content and functionality of a site and how it is experienced across the internet, intranet and portal interfaces. This establishes what content or functionality should be provided to meet their business objectives and, importantly, the needs of their online audience. The IA also collaborates internally with Syzygy's creative team to build this into meaningful and navigable concepts and structures.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Understanding client requirements and consistently meeting project objectives.
b) Conducting heuristic analysis of existing sites.
c) Defining high level content and grouping of content.
d) Creating site maps and their user interaction flow diagrams.
e) Creating storyboards, wireframes and paper-prototypes.
f) Documenting all issues relating to site architecture.
g) Presenting final architecture to team and client.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
a) Minimum 2 years experience working in a new media environment.
b) Proven experience in using software packages such as Omnigraffle, Visio, Word and PowerPoint.
c) Thorough understanding of the entire website design process.
d) Understanding of the principles of user centred interface design.
e) Experience of creating flow charts and diagrams.
f) Knowledge of usability and user research and testing.
g) Experience of working on database driven, templated web applications.
h) Deep understanding and appreciation of information and interface design and branding.
