Job Title: Product Marketing Manager
Location: Merthyr Tydfil
The basic salary package: Circa £30,000 (depending on experience) plus a package including 25 days annual holiday and bonus potential taking your OTE to around £35,000.
Our client is introducing its biggest and best ever range of vacuum cleaners and to support our progress we have a permanent vacancy for a Product Marketing Manager for our Small Domestic Appliance Division.
We are looking for a candidate who can develop and drive the success of a creative, innovative and profitable category. Delivers agreed sales and profit targets in specified categories. Also develops relevant and actionable category insights and uses these insights in the delivery of commercial objectives and enhance the brands under your remit.
Ideal candidate will be a marketing graduate with previous experience within the category/product marketing role, as well as experience of product management, sales responsibility, analysing, evaluating and developing new market sectors. A Chartered Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing or Master Degree is preferable and the ability to work as part of an effective team (Work with central marketing team in Italy essential).
Main Responsibilities
Develop yearly/quarterly plans to grow sales and profitability of the category to deliver the product portfolio objectives in respect of volume, value, profitability, brand share and price index
Plan and advise on category activity and strategy direction
Devise and drive category range plans and provide recommendations to maximise gross margin through product mix, price, channel management and lifecycle management
Undertake research and analyse market/category/product data (competitor analysis, benchmarking, market research, price and market gap analysis) to gain category buyer and customer insights
Translate insights and analysis into opportunities. Develop strategies and plans and work with sales teams to drive category/product and brand growth
Understand the market place and respond to opportunities and threats as they arise
Monitor trends in competitive companies and react where appropriate
Seek new commercial initiatives with potential to increase sales and profitability
Evaluate individual products so that they drive the profitability of the category and overall offering
In conjunction with sales and marketing team establish a rolling six month pricing, promotion and activity plan (National and Customer specific) to ensure that the product category achieves its stated goals.
Appreciation of the importance of legal and regulatory frameworks
Performance
Track product category key performance indicators (KPI) such as market share and define and communicate appropriate corrective plans and implementation programme
Work closely with sales function to achieve coverage and success in all relevant distribution channels
Successfully manage and achieve sales targets set for product category
Oversee the management of customer requests for product information/samples
Develop customer presentations for new products
