Job Description


Our client, a leading player within the Gaming industry is looking for a Product Manager - Horses and Greyhounds. You will be reporting to: Head of Retail Marketing. Marketing is a key contributor to our clients success and as such it is essential that they continue to strengthen and develop their UK retail marketing team.  They have therefore decided to set up a product focussed retail team to ensure that they are developing marketing programmes that drive their key products through their retail operation. Your role will be to own the product in retail.

You will be responsible for developing and delivering targets for growth across football, racing or gaming and virtual. You will work across the business and be seen to be the point person for creating commercial success for your product. Not only will you champion the product, youll create and deliver marketing programmes that are effective in delivering business targets. You will be held accountable for delivering commercial success and for building relationships with all key areas in the business from Trading to Retail Ops to the OCs and frontline teams.
This is a highly visible role and will need to have a combination of commercial acumen, strong analytics, a passion for your product, the ability to create and develop relationships and a creative marketing mind.
Each role will be split into four key measurable areas:

Development:

    *      Build a culture of putting insight and data at the centre of everything done with the customer at the heart of all decision making
    *      Know the figures for your product inside out and be seen as the focal point and expert in the business
    *      Push back the boundaries of what is done, demonstrate innovation whether from within or from agencies and/ or suppliers
    *      Make them the Home of Betting by widening the range of ways to bet and making betting easier and more fun
    *      Develop, agree and publish strategies for success

Planning and communication:

    *      Set and agree smart objectives and strategy with the Head of Retail Marketing
    *      Know, agree and share the plan for the year ahead
    *      Get buy in for the product plans from key stakeholders at the earliest opportunity
    *      Develop and manage a communication cascade plan and measure the effectiveness
    *      Develop strong working relationships with key colleagues including Trading, SID, Operations and IT
    *      Agree effective trading promotions with plans to maximise visibility and delivery of increased growth
    *      Build on operational relationships and get buy in for campaigns that break barriers and go the extra mile

Delivery

    *      Make it happen - on time and budget
    *      Deliver engaging and customer intuitive POS campaigns that lead from window to counter
    *      Maximise the effectiveness of the product zone and slip range
    *      Take a consistent brand approach
    *      Visit and monitor the successful delivery of all campaigns at shop level

Measurement & Building on success

    *      Demonstrate ROI from every marketing campaign
    *      Publish results against agreed targets
    *      Provide weekly updates of product performance with commentary and action areas for marketing development
    *      Demonstrate continual product growth based on the success of marketing
    *      Actively seek feedback and build upon it
    *      Review costs and drive value for money at every opportunity

The Successful Candidate:

    *      A proven track record in a similar marketing role is desirable including evidence of delivering all aspects of the product life cycle.
    *      A demonstrable understanding of the betting shop customer, their needs and how to engage with them
    *      A genuine interest in sports and the sector
    *      Excellent planning and analytical skills coupled with commercial nous
    *      Effective communications skills both verbal and written
    *      Strong influencing skills, with an ability to manage internal and external relationships up to senior levels of management
    *      High levels of passion, energy, commitment and creativity
