BSA is one of Birminghams oldest established businesses and a manufacturer of quality air rifles for the global market. Part of the Spanish multi-million pound group Gamo Outdoor, we are looking for a marketing communications expert to mastermind our marketing activities. Reporting to the Managing Director, the principal responsibilities of this newly created role are as follows:
To co-ordinate and manage in conjunction with a third party creative agency a programme of national advertising for BSA, Gamo and Laser Genetics products in gun trade magazines and consumer gun magazines.
To organise in conjunction with gun trade journalists a programme of editorials and product reviews in trade and consumer publications for BSA, Gamo and Laser Genetics brands.
To develop and publish, in conjunction with a third party creative agency, an annual product catalogue and separate printed price list.
To co-ordinate BSAs activities at exhibitions and trade shows, with complete project management responsibility for UK exhibitions and shows, and a supporting role to Gamo group colleagues for selected exhibitions abroad.
To mastermind and organise in conjunction with a third party creative agency the BSA website, blog, and email marketing.
To develop in conjunction with our sales team, retailers and distributors, merchandising tools and POP materials that maximize exposure and increase sell-through for the brands.
To develop in conjunction with our sales team a programme of promotional activity that maximizes the exposure of our product portfolio.
Candidates need to demonstrate at least 18 months experience of managing a programme of trade and consumer advertising and editorial as well as at least 18 months experience of one or more of the following activities:
Experience of co-ordinating the production of a printed product catalogue
Experience of project managing exhibitions and trade shows
Experience of creating and developing websites, blogs and email marketing
Experience of trade marketing an FMCG or consumer brand
Experience of working in the gun trade is not essential to being successful in this role. Of more importance are the following personal attributes:
Excellent organisational skills
Good communications skills
Good eye for detail
Strong commercial acumen
Drive to complete complex projects
Ability to work with a variety of different people
