Product & Category Manager, Retail, Midlands, £50,000 pro rata, 9 months maternity cover
Calling all product managers in the midlands! This is a great opportunity to lead and develop a product management team for this B2B manufacturer of timber-based products.
You'll be on a 9 month maternity cover contract, managing cross functional relationships and continuously developing and evaluating the product range to ensure the product portfolio remains market leading.
Key Responsibilities
Product Management
- To provide category product development plans
- To analyse and interpret competitor and market insight to help shape company strategy
- To provide selection and de-selection recommendations across all product categories demonstrating sound commercial analysis
- To manage pricing architecture
Marketing Communications
- To manage the launch and introduction of new products into the business
- To formulate and summarise presentation materials
Relationship Management
- To provide support to the regional and field teams
- To manage the product development process with the supply team
- To manage, coach and develop the product teams
- To keep the marketing and business information teams informed
Key Requirements:
- Graduate standard with Business/Marketing degree or relevant vocational qualification/experience
- Extensive and relevant experience in a Product Management position
- Experience of working in a B2B "Product" environment
- Strong organisational, planning and project management skills
- Logical and methodical with strong attention to detail
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Commercial acumen
- Evaluation and decision making
- People management
- Highly motivated, resilient, adaptable and flexible, dynamic & proactive
