Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for a hungry sales person with a background in Media Sales.

Our Client, are publishers of a golf magazine in the UK that specialises in golf travel. The magazine contains information about golf destinations around the world and our readers are golf travellers.

Their clients are tourist boards and golf resorts that want to promote themselves to their readers. In 2010 they launched an interactive magazine that is sent to 700,000 golfers in the UK. The interactive magazine is proving very popular with golfers and advertisers and is growing fast. They launched the Interactive magazine in the USA in May 2011 and it has once again been very successful. It is emailed to one million American golfers and their clients are golf resorts and tourist boards that are interested in targeting American and British golfers.

The Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for sales to golf clubs, resorts, agencies and tourist boards in the USA, for the US Interactive Magazine.

This will entail telephone and email communication to present the new publication and advertising opportunities.

There will also be occasional sales trips to the USA. In the long term our client hopes that this person will manage the American business.

Experience Required:

  • Strong Sales Background (2-3 years)
  • Media Sales (Preferably Magazine)
  • Account Management Experience/Skills
  • Cold Calling Experience
  • Golf Sales

Personal requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ambitious
  • Tenacious
  • Persistent
  • Self-Starter
  • An interest in business.
  • An interest in golf and sport is desirable but not essential.
