Our client, a leading international academic publisher based in modern Oxfordshire offices, has recently registered the need for a Marketing Executive to join their team in this senior team member role, with high levels of accountability, responsibility and support.

The main purpose of the vacancy will be to take responsibility for proactively maximising the sales and profitability of the Research and Scholarly list. Key responsibilities will include:

·Preparing and executing appropriate marketing plans for new and backlist products;
·Researching, planning and implementing direct marketing campaigns and analysing results;
·Planning, implementing and controlling direct promotion budget for lists;
·Exploring and developing new and appropriate marketing techniques;
·Monitoring and analysing competitor activity on an ongoing basis;
·Proactively and responsively marketing to meet customer needs;
·Working with colleagues in other departments to maximise effectiveness through exchange of knowledge and information.

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent, and will possess experience in a publishing marketing environment. A working knowledge of the Internet and experience of direct marketing and list management is necessary. You will be an effective communicator with good commercial awareness, a flexible approach and excellent attention to detail.
