This dynamic and leading global manufacturer requires a motivated and insightful Category Analyst to support the brand and sales teams by providing relevant and strong analysis/insights based on consumer sales data, shopper insights and competitor information.
Within this top-tier organisation you will report to the UK Insight Manager and be instrumental in delivering strategic market overviews, brand performances and identifying future trends and opportunities within the extensive portfolio. You will work very closely with Brand Managers and Customer Marketing teams and as Category Analyst, key responsibilities will include:
• Independently analysing and converting data into manageable formats that is easy to understand and use as the basis for decision-making under the supervision of the Insight Manager
• Understand shopper behaviour utilising qualitative and quantitative research tools for use in supporting high-level decision-making
• Support the Insight Manger in the production of the annual Strategic Channel Plan and Brand Plan using both qualitative and quantitative data tools
• Presentation of analysis and insights to key accounts to aid them in making informed decisions on the category within their business
• Attending team meetings to support trade activity planning and provide sector and competitor analysis
• Dealing with data agencies and communicating standard information to the business e.g. AC Nielsen, dunnhumby and IGD
• Responsibility for the evaluation of specific promotional activities and involvement in evaluation planning for both the channel and the brand teams
• Assist the Insight Manger in reviewing the channel and brand marketing performance by presenting a summary against their Strategic Channel Plan and Brand Plan, flagging up areas in which the business should question its performance
• Responsibility for the construction and presentation of priority account review packs to support the account teams
• Production and maintenance of key performance reports and trackers for the business
With an understanding of Category Management principles and proficiency in analysis tools, you will be analytical and insightful with good presentation skills. A keen problem-solver, you be commercial and will enjoy influencing internal and external business units.
