Job Description

This successful digital agency based in NW1 is looking for an experienced Account Director with healthcare experience to join their team.

As Account Director (Healthcare), you will be an expert in healthcare and pharmaceutical communications with the primary responsibility of retaining and strategically growing the account.

You will liaise with and lead the teams to ensure the success and development of your accounts.

You will be our voice within our client's company and the voice of the client within the agency.

You will become expert in your client's business, acting as an extension to their marketing communications teams.


RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Growth

  • Develop a close working relationship adding value above and beyond the execution of a programme
  • Proactively identify opportunities for growth and development
  • Create and lead teams to explore/develop these opportunities and lead the project teams to successful conclusions
  • Once projects become live, you will brief and handover the day-to-day running of the projects to the relevant Project Manager / Account Manager
  • Create, own and manage the client development plan utilising it for formulating the strategic direction of the account
  • Develop and grow out Healthcare offering and client portfolio

 

Retention

  • Ensure ROI measures are developed and monitor the results of our work, sharing positive learning with team members
  • Monitor quality of output - creative execution, process, client handling and satisfaction
  • Escalate any issues to the Client Services Director or Group Account Director that you feel threaten account retention
  • Develop deep and lasting professional relationships with clients that constitute a point of difference against our competitors
  • Extend the breadth of our contact with the client - ensuring we are present in all relevant activity and departments

 

Financial responsibility

  • Understanding budgeting and forecasting procedures, and ensuring accurate forecasting & cost tracking across your account
  • Ensuring accurate quoting for any new work or recharging for any additional work
  • Full P&L responsibility on accounts
  • Understand the broader financial perspective of the firm
  • Contribute to the company budget process and delivery

 

Administration

  • Create agendas & contact reports for all client meetings
  • Ensure client receives timely periodic account status reports
  • Responsible for effective briefing and debrief meetings with both client and internal teams

 

 

Client team responsibilities

  • Making a significant contribution and taking a leadership role within the client team
  • Sharing knowledge with the team & helping others in the team to deliver on objectives
  • Leading the team to further understand the Healthcare industry and regularly sharing industry news

 

New business

  • Partake in new business pitches / credentials presentations where appropriate, running pitch teams as necessary
  • Work closely with other team members to maximise opportunities

 

Industry

  • Have an overall awareness of marketing issues and developments in Healthcare and other sectors of interest for us
  • Maintain an appropriate breadth of knowledge that will benefit the business and your own professional development
  • Work with the senior management team to promote & represent the agency proposition

 


COMPETENCIES

Knowledgeable in advertising standards and codes of practice within the Healthcare industry eg. MHRA, ABPI, BIVDA etc.

Knowledgeable in strategy, planning, development and management of content marketing both on and offline. Understanding and ability to interpret clients brands in any media

Successful track record in building exceptional client relationships, necessary capability, presence and professionalism to inspire confidence and credibility with clients and colleagues

Experience in presenting and pitching to a variety of groups of people and comfortable in facilitating workshops, brainstorms and agency focus groups using narrative approaches

Actively seeks out latest thinking taking an informed view and communicates new developments to agency teams and clients

Commercially minded, a strong negotiator and decision maker capable of putting forward sound rationale and business case for proposed initiatives

Ensures development and understanding of vision for client account and motivates and inspires teams to consistently exceed client expectations

Passionate, focused and a self-starter who thrives on quality and innovative delivery of client briefs
