Commercial Assistant

Samsung Product Specialist – Notebooks

Employment Full-time

Location NLC, Bolton

Working Hours 8 hrs/day, Mon-Fri, + Overtime when required

Commercial Assistant

The Samsung Product Specialist works within the Commercial Department reporting directly to a Category Head/Commercial Manager, and is responsible for assisting all categories. They are typically tasked with the following responsibilities;

Business Performance

• Assist in strategies that enhance margin; working in particular with Samsung to analyse trends, patterns and sales cycles both internally within Dabs and externally against competitors.
• Generate Strategic Plans to deliver profitable revenue in line with dabs and Samsung’s company plans
• Deliver Business Plans to drive QPB (and Stretch) targets taking into account market conditions, customer profiles and channels;
• Deliver Product Plans to support Business Plans providing market leading value to customer by channel;
• Develop proactive strategies to enhance margin;

Product Maintenance

• Assisting in (web address removed) part code management through part code creation on Fulrcum and web attributes using PDM
• Ensuring Samsung product range is updated on a monthly basis, liaising with accounts to implement price protections, maintaining sell prices and monthly promotions.
• Samsung and Departmental daily, weekly, monthly reporting;
• Assist in populating systems to drive attachment products, working with Samsung to specify bundle opportunities as part of external marketing activities.

Vendor Relations

• Develop existing relationships with Samsung and Strategic manufacturers ensuring Dabs receive top level support for business initiatives including priority customer service and sharing product/technology development plans; particularly utilizing Intel and Microsoft funding via Samsung
• Assisting the administration of VI – raising SOs and marketing collateral for manufacturers

Business Development

• To achieve agreed targets on revenue, margin and GM%;
• Work with Purchasing Team to control Aged Stock;

Internal Marketing

• Ensure process and flow of work from design team to web/print advertising from cradle to grave.
• Communicating product information to other dabs’ departments (via Fulcrum, Intranet and verbally);
• Assist in the management of vendor training for other dabs’ departments;
• Assist in on product related promotions, generating landing pages as part of marketing plans and also internal promotions.

External Marketing

• Liaise with Samsung and other vendors where appropriate to arrange catalogue pages within deadlines, and in advance where possible.
• Proof-read and ratify adverts and line listings;
• Administer alternative advertising, mailers, press advertising, press releases etc;
• Report on activity performance.

It may also be necessary for a APM to carry out other departmental duties that have yet to be defined
