Job Description

Marketing Manager

JOB PURPOSE

To provide a full marketing service for Route and associated companies including brand management, materials production, promotional activity, newsletters, websites, the on line store, advertising and PR.

JOB CONTEXT

The success of this role will be primarily achieved through a strong focus on the business proposition, understanding the market and the customer perspective. Strong analytical, communication and organisational skills with a creative flare that can deliver the services required to support sales and generate revenue.

KEY ACCOUNT ABILITIES & ACTIVITIES

Marketing Plan, Tools & Materials

  • Develop and implement a yearly marketing plan for Route & associated companies to increase awareness and generate sales with a full costing breakdown.

  • Control and manage the yearly agreed budget.

  • Maintain and develop the brand books and control all communications to ensure consistent use of brand logo and marketing materials.

  • Support the sales team and sales drives by defining and creating the necessary sales tools to ensure customer sales opportunities are created and progressed including leave behinds, website, standard presentations and sales presenter updates for all products and services.

  • Devise, produce and distribute all brand literature, brochures and mailouts in the most impactful and cost effective manner.

  • Coordinate and manage the distribution of business partner and suppliers sales literature.

  • Provide the link to the customers by mailing out information through various forms related to promotional activity, new products/services, brand changes and service changes.

  • Maintain and continually refresh the website so that it is fit for purpose, up to date, easy to access and has all the relevant linked pages set up.

  • Ensure that the website is operational and any problems are resolved quickly to ensure staff, customers and new browsers are able to access the website.

  • Provide monthly reports on the website usage and hit rates.

  • Maintain and continuously develop the on line store and report on usage.

  • Produce newsletters and ebulletins in line with agreed objectives and timelines.

  • Develop and maintain the online profile and utilise effectively social media.

  • Scope out work or a brief, source and manage external agencies to deliver marketing activities including design, development and production of marketing materials, tools and promotional campaigns including merchandise and kits.

  • Use appropriate analytical and evaluative methods to assess and measure the impact of marketing activity.

  • To ensure that there is an accurate library of images and logo's for usage in all advertising, newsletters and mailshots.

  • To keep an up to date library and archive of all advertising, promotional materials and newsletters.

Public Relations & Advertising

  • To develop a yearly PR and Advertising plan with a full cost breakdown.

  • To liaise with the PR agency to deliver impactful and effective PR building reputation, deliver sales leads and revenue.

  • To work with the PR agency to produce advertisements, editorials and features for all Route and associated companies PR and advertising.

  • To develop a suite of marketing materials, including casestudies that are regularly up dated and added to for use on the website, presentations and advertising.

  • To produce the requested advertising copy for all entries into brochures and monthly magazines within the time deadlines.

Promotional Materials

  • Design, develop, source, cost out and distribute promotional materials and kits.

  • Produce a yearly promotional plan for the ACC marketing contract and liaise with the various brand owners. Implement all the activities within the signed off plan including, themed promotions, drinks promotions, promotional kits with giveaways and point of sale materials.

  • Develop and implement all the communication requirements for promotions including the briefing of sales personnel, client area managers and the end user.

  • To yearly produce Point of Sale (POS) material for the ACC contract. Cost out, order and ensure the distribution of the kits in line with usage.

  • Provide reports quarterly of the POS activity.

  • Provide monthly updates on all promotional activity with full spend reports on Route and the major contracts.

  • Evaluate and report on the impact of promotional activity.

General

  • To work in a manner that reflects the Route values.

  • To maintain a clean and tidy workstation and adhering to the clean desk policy.

  • To maintain the high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen area, to tidy cups away and put into dishwasher for cleaning every day. Maintain a clean staff and kitchen area by tidying up after eating.

  • To work in a manner that meets the Health & Safety at Work regulations so that at all times the Route offices meet all legal requirements.

CORE SKILLS

  • Understanding how the sales process works

  • Creative thinker with some flair for design and the ability to question and interrogate work done by design and PR agencies

  • Writing skills including good grammar - competent to write content, critique others and proof reading skills

  • Presentation skills with interpersonal influence and impact

  • Strong analytical and organisation skills with the ability to juggle priorities and meet deadlines

  • IT Skills - computer literate in particular Apple Mac and Microsoft Office Suite as well as some knowledge of commercial production packages and CRM

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven track record of planning and carrying out marketing and promotional campaigns and initiatives

  • Experienced in managing print collateral in the form of posters, leaflets and brochures as well as liaising directly with agencies and printers

  • Able to demonstrate the ability to balance creative flair with analysis. Confident with spread sheets, understanding statistics and reporting on trends
