SAS/VBA Consultant, dunnhumby (Shopping Experience)
£25,000 - £40,000 plus bonus and flexible benefits package
London (Ealing)
Who did you say?
We said dunnhumby. And our prestigious clients did too. They include Tesco, Shell, Procter & Gamble and Casino. And Kroger. And Coca-Cola. We won’t be too surprised if you haven’t heard of us, because we’ve always been in the business of making our clients’ names bigger before our own. We think it’s time to change that, though. So we thought a new challenge was in order. For you, for our business and for our ever increasing brand profile.
So what is it you do?
We do a complex task expertly, comprehensively and with superior creative style. Starting with analysis of consumer purchase decisions we use that data to drive brand values and strengthen clients’ positions in a fiercely competitive global marketplace. As we say to them: customers don’t get stolen, they walk. So using a combination of IT, data analysis, creative skills and business expertise we give our clients’ consumers the best and most trusted reasons to stay exactly where they are.
And not just in the UK. Our global turnover is currently in excess of $300m and our people work across the UK as well as in Ireland, France, the US and India. It won’t stop there, either. With you working for us – building powerful client relationships – we can build on our impressive results to achieve even more.
And me?
Reporting to the UK Head of Shopping Experience, you will work as an integral part of the team managing the technical delivery and development of our Category Management and Promotions toolset. This toolset includes a number of core reports which are used extensively by Tesco and dunnhumby’s FMCG client base.
With your strong technical skills you will provide key support using Excel/VBA and SAS to facilitate the delivery of a wide range of our tools. You will be the technical and analytical expert on these tools, providing training and support for the analyst delivery teams. Ultimately your role is to work with the Commercial Product lead and delivery teams to ensure that we are maintaining first class delivery standards on all of our Category Management and Promotions projects.
Innovation has an important role in this fast paced business. This role also offers exciting scope to work cross-functionally alongside the R&D and Client teams, seeking out innovative ways to improve our toolset and provide greater support for client decision making. Your objective is to make our solutions more relevant to clients whilst ensuring they can be delivered in an efficient and scaleable way.
Why would I want to do it?
Because this is a key opportunity within our developing business, you have a chance to contribute to the overall vision for how we build revenues, strategic partnerships and develop the right propositions to meet our client needs. You will have strong academics, advanced Excel skills together with a working knowledge of VBA/SAS. You will also have the ability to articulate analytical concepts for both a technical and non-technical audience. Ideally you would also have experience of user interface design, although this is not essential. And in return, we’ll make things happen for you. It’s not just a competitive salary, it’s a chance to grow a new business doing a job you’ve always loved doing.
