My client is a large, global marketing services business with a truly excellent recent record of growth and a wide range of both B2B and B2C products and services. Operating globally, they are constantly looking to ensure their product portfolio is fit-for-purpose and the strategies behind them are well thought-through and deliver profitability. They are now looking to recruit two Strategy Development Managers to help realise these strategic developments, across predominantly digital channels.
The Strategy Development function is a group-wide operation sitting above a large number of diverse but complimentary businesses. Within the group the purpose of the SD team is to ensure a joined-up and complimentary approach to strategic marketing development is fostered across all businesses, ensuring best practices are adopted in the development of product initiatives, sharing learnings of where opportunities exist, what is driving success and how to leverage this information into valuable strategies and product development initiatives.
Success in these roles will be achieved through a comprehensive understanding of both the group's products and services but also, crucially, the client base's own markets and customer bases. Given the B2B2C nature of the majority of operations within the group it is important that candidates are continuously developing their knowledge of digital channels, incorporating mobile and social as well as email and online marketing. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate comprehensive success in strategic functions, ideally with a bias to customer marketing and development.
The team is set us as something of an internal consultancy operation and so will require candidates with excellent planning, influencing and communications skills in order to sell and develop strategies. These skills will be engaged in order to deliver new product research, commercial and operational planning and the development of ideation and growth opportunities across the whole group.
Candidates with a background in a large, multi-million customer, FTSE-100 / global organisation will be of particular interest, possibly within travel, leisure, retail, telcos or financial services companies for these exciting new positions since this experience reflects the client base and their markets. Alternatively, candidates with consultancy experience are likely to meet the skill set required. The business would like to consider CVs for individuals with excellent academic backgrounds and, potentially, a corporate planning or consultancy background.
