Head of Marketing - Law Firm, Oxford 

  Who we are 

We are an established Law Firm with a strong regional office in Oxford, with a solid reputation working with large and medium sized businesses in the area.  To support this growth, the firm is looking to appoint a Head of Marketing.  This is a key role, one that will work closely with the Partners and the management Board.

 The demands of the role are high: 

 This person needs to have the skills in marketing and business development to drive effective programmes and the character and personality to deliver significant results for the firm. Credibility with Partners and the Management Board is essential, as well as the ability to provide the leadership and direction for the marketing team. Specifically, this person will need to have the strategic and analytical skills to look at market rates, challenge the recovery and billings processes in place and in addition to finding new clients and new markets, maximise business from existing clients and existing relationships. To achieve this, we anticipate that the person must be able to provide the coaching and support for Partners to help them raise the bar in terms of their business development and client relationship skills.  We see this as a hands on role that combines strategic and tactical marketing, business development and sales skills. 

 Candidate Profile: 

• A proven track-record in marketing and business development gained in a professional services, legal or related organisation.
• Experience of working with Partners/Boards and at a strategic level
• The ability to drive marketing and business development campaigns that deliver results.
• Experience of coaching and supporting colleagues during the business development/sales cycle in professional services.
• Experience of using all aspects of the marketing mix to drive brand and reputation.
• Strong leadership in a business development/marketing role the firm is looking for someone who can push the boundaries in this role.
• Experience in providing marketing analysis and strategic review of rates and customer/client profiling.
• Ability to bring together a team to deliver business development and marketing programmes.
• It is likely that this person will have a degree in a business related or marketing capacity and or further qualifications such as an MBA, Diploma in Marketing etc from a recognised body.

 The successful candidate needs to be based at the Oxford office, have a clean driving license and be able to work with colleagues in the London office/Reading Offices.
