Product Marketing Manager - (Switching/Electronic Control)
Bury St Edmunds
£27,000 - £30,000 Plus Contributory Pension, Life Assurance, 21 Days' Holiday (rising with service), Flexible Working Hours, Profit Share

As a leading manufacturer that has been operating for over 60 years, our client specialises in industrial, domestic, medical and automotive switching products and electronic control technology. Offering excellent inhouse production facilities, strong knowledge of international standards, and a distribution network that spans the globe, their position is unrivalled. They are now looking for an Product Marketing Manager to join their team.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer with a flair for, and some experience of Product Management to play a senior, key role in a company embracing change.

This is a new role in the engineering department that has responsibility for giving greater focus to the company profile and market development, whilst at the same time managing key engineering projects related to cost down and value engineering. This position will involve occasional international travel.

Reporting to the Engineering Director, as the Engineering Product Manager your key responsibilities will include:

- selecting and transferring products to overseas manufacturing partners
- identifying new and emerging market areas and product requirements
- generating and maintaining product literature
- maintaining the website
- coordinating marketing campaigns

To succeed in this role you must be an experienced Engineer, either mechanical or electronic, who has experience in a design and/or project management role. Our client is also keen to hear from applicants from a technical sales background as well.

As the Product Marketing Manager you must also have a degree or HND (or equivalent) in a related subject, strong customer facing skills, and excellent communication skills. This role will require proficiency using common MS applications including Publisher, experience of website maintenance, and ideally, experience of CAD.

Although you will have no direct reports, you will also need the ability to manage small project teams and enhance the departments' interfaces with customers, distributors, sales and manufacturing teams - requiring a level of seniority, competency and gravitas.
