Major Activities and Responsibilities
·Each department will have different needs and requirements. The WMO will need to work with multi departmentsl to identify the best way forward and decide how their time and skills can be best applied.
·Taking a strategic overview of the websites, and acting as a central resource and point of reference, the WMO will ensure that pages developed by people across the organisation come together as a coherent, logical whole.
·The role will require an awareness of sensitive situations within the organisation, and an ability to find solutions to satisfy all affected parties.
·Working with the organisations Web Marketing Manager to ensure site meets web and corporate style guidelines, and fits well with the site as a whole.
·Identifying appropriate opportunities to incorporate multimedia content, such as videos and podcasts, or Web 2.0 tools, such as RSS feeds, into the site.
·Implementing best practice in web usability, site architecture, page layout and writing for the web.
The role will include -
oAssisting with the writing and management of web content.
oSourcing content from colleagues across the organisation, proofreading and editing where necessary.
oEnsuring all content is easy to find and written in a way which is accessible and appropriate for reading online.
oProject managing the redevelopment of the websites to ensure that within six months the sites are in a strong position from which they can be taken forward.
oBuilding and maintaining webpage's using Content Management System, EasySite.
oSourcing appropriate images.
THE PACKAGE: Basic Salary up to £35,000k pro rata.
LOCATION: Midlands, West Midlands, Coventry, Leicester, Birmingham.
