Hays Marketing have been exclusively instructed to recruit a part-time Deputy Editor for this national organisation, to see them through a period of recruitment over the forthcoming months.
This is a great opportunity for a freelance editor to develop their experience within the not-for-profit sector on an 'ad-hoc' basis - three (flexible) days per week, two consecutive weeks per month.
Key requirements of the post will be to:
- research, write and proof read copy for a range of publications, deputising as Editor for key monthly publications
- support the editor in liaison with designers, printers and distributers
- offer written and publishing support to web team
- assist in the weekly publication of e-newsletter
- source photography as required
- write feature articles for specific publications
- to work with, and develop relationships with external partners seeking sponsorship for competitions and events where possible The successful applicant will have:
- relevant qualification or training in communications, publications or journalism
- a good understanding of corporate identity
- experience of using Quark and MS Office in recent roles
- extensive experience of writing for internal and external publications, and proof reading
- experience of working to tight deadlines and of managing designers and printers accordingly
- great attention to detail
- ability to work well in pressurised situations All applicants should be available to start work immediately and will be able to provide Hays with references for any recent editorial work undertaken.
