I'm currently recruiting an Interim Web Editor to cover a short period of recruitment within an organisation in the West Midlands.
Start mid September, duration up to four weeks.
OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
*Source and write news items for website, its associated microsites and other publications as required, liaising with all departments and regions within the organisation
*Advise website publishers on content and monitoring of the staff intranet
*Research enhancements and changes to their websites in line with business objectives; working closely with the information services department and external suppliers to achieve this
*Work closely with colleagues in the Communications department and deputise for Senior Web Editor where necessary
Due to the short term nature of this role, the successful candidate will have all the following skills and experience:
*To have communications and journalism training for example NCTJ (or equivalent)
*Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
*To have an understanding of website navigation, usability, the immediacy and importance of website publishing.
*Able to demonstrate an understanding of legislation relating to online publishing, for example the moderating of message boards, libel and defamation
*Excellent communication skills including written with the ability to write fast, clearly and to deadline and communicate effectively with officeholders and staff at all levels
*Ability to network and build a good professional reputation, including responding to queries in a polite and timely manner
