This is an interim role in a busy media office - you will need to have the experience and the aptitude to be able to hit the ground running and make an impact. Previous Press Office/ PR Agency experience is essential.
You will be...
- the first point of contact for media enquiries acting in a professional manner, often requiring the use of persuasion skills
- Producing press releases and statements as necessary, whether it is in response to enquiries from the media regarding a specific contentious issue, to promote good news issues regarding new initiatives or the provision of information for the general public.
- Supporting the Chief Executive and Directors in the handling of press/media queries and issues of considerable public interest.
- Maintaining the publicity programme schedule
- Monitoring of local, regional and national press for issues relevant to the organisation and to circulate information on a regular basis
- Assisting in the preparation of key corporate documents including the Annual Report
- Assisting in the production and distribution of a weekly newsletter to staff, meeting a Friday afternoon deadline as well as other communication materials for staff and stakeholders, including the monthly Team Brief.
- Assist in the design and implementation of campaign, public and other literature, often of a complex nature and requiring advanced creative planning.
- Assisting in the implementation of publicity campaigns ˇ
- Establishing and maintain communication links with colleagues, internally and externally, at all levels. Including attendance at corporate meetings on behalf of Communications.
- Assisting in the maintenance of the website using IT skills, to ensure the required standards are maintained and to liaise with Directors as to required action. The role will require an immediate start so you must be in a position where you can start straight away or at the most within a week.
