Press Officer

Negotiable Between £120 - £200 per day, depending on experience

Our client are a well known l borough council currently in need of a Press Officer to join their friendly team.
The press officer will have responsibility for their own portfolio area, within:
- Children, school and families
- Housing and central services
- Community safety and adult social care
Job Description:
The role requires an experienced professional who can quickly win over confidence and provide strategic media advice to the most senior members of the organisation and maintain excellent relationships across the council and with external partners.
Must be able to write and edit high-quality, clear copy within tight deadlines such as press releases, briefings, letters to the press, features and articles for external and internal publications and the council's magazine that contribute to the organisation's core objectives and are relevant to their target audience.
All written and oral communication must be within the legal requirements of local government publicity and in line with council policy.
Skills :
- Must have excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Candidates MUST have press office experience within a busy press office.
