Job Description

With the 2009 online budget almost doubled from 2008, this leading retailer is looking to recruit an experienced Online Marketer to add experience to the team.

The person should have experience with a similar online business, and with relevant recent experience operating paid search, affiliate and direct response banner programs online. This role is essential to maintaining the continuity of the channels event plan, and with such an increase in sales anticipated they need the holder to bring immediate influence to the online marketing plan.

The main responsibilities will be to:
- Develop, deliver and manage all online events and promotions across UK market
- Direction of search engine marketing vendor with a view to maximising traffic
- Manage, plan and deliver effective email campaigns in partnership with CRM team- identifying effective email segments and exploiting them using promotional tool kit
- Manage and deliver an effective promotional affiliate plan via the chosen network; running exclusive promotions and tactics for delivery that ensures sales are driven from this channel.
- Effectively use analytics to identify success/failure of campaigns and performance trends.
- Manage all online marketing and projects/budgets.
- Develop and manage an annual plan of offline campaigns that specifically acquire email data, aligned with retail promotional activities.
- Drive online customer transactions within defined customer acquisition, conversion, cost per transaction and ROI parameters.
- Manage online marketing plans within the context of a defined e-commerce acquisition, conversion and retention strategy, particularly using rich media and direct response banner advertising to drive incremental sales.
- Develop an effective search engine optimisation strategy so that natural search becomes a bigger referrer for the UK to include content creation and link building strategies.
- Work alongside CRM to segment the email customer, plus to ensure that the promotional email marketing and online marketing campaigns are aligned.
- Identify and understand the needs and requirements of the online customers via the analytics package and if necessary via external research techniques.
- Align online marketing plans with retail marketing plans so there is a consistent message and creative execution.
- Seek out new/improved efficient vehicles and methods of communication.
