This is an exciting opportunity for a category manager to join a leading entertainments company. You will operate at the heart of this fast moving and constantly evolving industry. This award winning business has a proven track record of supporting major high street, supermarket, specialist and internet retailers. They pride themselves on providing a full range of services and expertise at every stage of the retail supply chain.
As category manager you will work with the category planners and insights team to gain an understanding of the key drivers and dynamics of the market environment. Using this information, you will make recommendations to specific retailers on the optimum category offer. Additionally, you will understand how pricing, promotions, display and signage, merchandising techniques and space interact to drive optimum retailer sales performance forward.
In this role it is imperative that you understand the part the retailer plays within the market, with a view to building long term strategic retailer business relationships which will foster overall market sales and profit growth. For this reason it is not essential that you have entertainments experience (although it would be an advantage), you could also come from a retail background with a passion for the industry and the required skill set. Regarding the skill set; you must possess strong influencing, analytical and communications skills, which you will have developed in a commercial environment.
