Membership Secretary, Membership Coordinator, London, to £32.5K

Position: Membership Secretary
Location: London, Closest tube stations are Cannon Street and Mansion House
Salary: £30,000 to £32,500 Basic

You may have experience in the following roles: Membership Support Advisor, Membership Co-ordinator, Customer Support Advisor, Membership Assistant, Customer Support Manager, Customer Support Administrator, Executive Assistant, Personal Assistant, PA, Club Secretary

Our client was given its first Charter in 1363 and is one of the Twelve Great Livery Companies of the City of London. The Company's origins are steeped in the history of the City of London, and the import, regulation and sale of wine. The Company continues to maintain strong links with the UK Wine Trade, with Vintners' Hall known as the Trade's "spiritual home". The Company has a wide range of social, charitable and educational interests and participates fully in the civic life of the City of London.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Our client is seeking to appoint a Membership Secretary with responsibility for membership administration and the organisation of Company events and activities. This is a very interesting and demanding job focussed on membership contact and the planning and co-ordination of functions in a senior Livery Company and reports directly to the Clerk / Chief Executive of the Company.

Due to the retirement of the present incumbent, they are looking for a capable administrator who is motivated by a varied and demanding role. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute fully to the development of a new membership system and redesign how this is used in the Company to encourage active participation of the members as well as bringing a fresh eye to administrative processes

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
a) A proven track record of planning and preparation for events
b) Front line contact with customers or members in a previous role
c) Strong interpersonal skills
d) Attention to detail
e) Strong IT skills including management of the member database

DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
a) A knowledge of the wine trade would be a bonus.
