Job Description

Position Title: Account Director - Events

Market Group: Finance

Brand Portfolio: Money Marketing/Mortgage Strategy/Platforum

Reports To: Commercial Director

Office Location: London


11 events across the financial portfolio – ranging from Roundtables to large conferences and prestigious award ceremonies. The sponsorship opportunities are wide in range and scope


The job holder will be responsible for driving and growing sponsorship revenues within the Centaur financial portfolio. They will report to the Commercial Director and work closely with Commercial and Events teams to drive revenues and exceed budget.

Key Accountabilities:

* Developing a new business accounts while managing existing accounts to achieve ambitious sales targets and drive yield

* Prospecting, qualifying potential clients and closing sales.

* Coordinating sales with conference producers and logistics managers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of sponsorship elements

* Diligent management of Centaur Media’s CRM system (salesforce)

* Coordinating and fulfilling post-sale feedback with the marketing and conference producers to ensure repeat business

* Occasional travel to events


* Demonstrate exceptional daily sales drive, in-depth knowledge of audience needs across the finance sector and strong commercial acumen

* A proven track record in defining and delivering high value sponsorship packages in the B2B or B2C events sector

* Ability to identify opportunities, develop new initiatives and compelling creative solutions

* Effectively communication; building rapport and relating to others at all levels both internally and externally

* Adept at networking

* Experience of working collaboratively with multi-platform teams

* Ability to work with senior industry contacts

* Strong goal orientation, focusing on setting and exceeding personal, team and organisational goals


* Achieves or exceeds targets

* Renews repeat business and delivers new clients to the event with a view to drive yield

* Demonstrates a daily focus and enthusiastic commitment to succeed and over-achieve
