The UK Commercials are responsible for generating £36 million of advertising revenue into our websites, magazines, events and awards. We have a team of 60 people who are located in across our offices. The UK Commercial Advertising team is headed up by the Chief Revenue Officer Zack Sullivan who joined Future as a graduate demonstrating the real opportunity for career progression at Future.

Job Summary & Purpose

You will be responsible for maximising commercial opportunities and generating advertising revenue from clients across one of our verticals, which include Tech, Games, Music, Hobbies and Cycling. You will be selling print, digital, creative solutions, relevant events and awards sponsorship.

This is primarily a telesales role but you will also go and see your clients, to pitch innovative opportunities to gain additional advertising revenues from them.

You will manage and develop existing clients as well as looking for potential new clients whom would benefit from advertising with us. You will devise a plan and work towards generating a minimum of 10% YOY revenue growth.

As an Account Manager your clients will vary from spending under £3k a year to over £15k a year with Future. You will have a selection of approximately 100 clients with whom you have to develop a good professional relationship.

By working with editorial, marketing, and other areas of the business, you will create bespoke ideas, and pitch these to your client base to generate increased YoY revenues, taking revenue from our competitors or gaining new revenues from other budgets

You will ensure you are driving the best possible yields from your clients and that you are maximising wherever possible, best market share position, forward booking series, upselling and gaining long term series business.

Developing new business is an important part of the role by identifying lapsed or new clients that would benefit from advertising in our brands.

You will manage your client base like you would your own business, knowing how much revenue is in your pipeline, and in turn delivering accurate forecasts and revenue projections.

You will strive to deliver and exceed your monthly and quarterly individual and team targets. Along with a good basic salary, the commission scheme is great, paying out monthly and quarterly.

Essential skills and experience:

* Excellent sales person

* Ideally, minimum 1-2 years media sales

* Works well as part of a team and independently

* Excellent influencing skills and objection handling skills

* Deliver key objectives as agreed with your manager

* Adaptable and flexible

* Full UK driving licence
