A fantastic opportunity exists for a Business Development Manager to join the highly regarded marketing and business development team of a global law firm.
Managing relationships with clients effectively and winning new business are critical to the firm which needs experienced business-to-business marketing and business development professionals who possess a deep understanding of the requirements of leading international clients. The successful candidate can expect considerable scope to demonstrate their imagination working on challenging, engaging tasks that will provide the opportunity to make a mark and allow career development. You will collaborate with a number of client teams who are supporting some of the firm's largest financial institution relationships, to ensure they are operating in accordance with best practice and instil a proactive approach to relationship management, identifying opportunities to grow relationships and work with client teams to realise this. You will be expected to use your market knowledge of fintech and work with the global fintech team to secure new mandates, through building a network of contacts, raising the firm's profile in the market and sharing knowledge amongst the group to make more compelling client propositions. From a pitching perspective, you will work with lead partners and the firm's centralised Pitch Centre teams on high-value pitch opportunities to increase the firm's probabilities of winning and collaborate with the centralised Pitch Centre teams to ensure there is a good understanding and knowledge base of capabilities and experience related to financial institutions in support of creating compelling pitches. Market intelligence will also represent an important element of this challenging Business Development Manager role including proactively looking for market information to share with client teams, making recommendations on how best to action the intelligence, and ensuring client teams are aware of key market developments concerning their clients.
The ideal candidate will be a bright graduate or equivalent with extensive relevant experience gained in a legal or professional services firm to include time spent working in an international business environment that requires buy-in and engagement of senior management or partners and working across cultures successfully. Previous experience working in or in relation to global financial institutions is also essential as are excellent oral and written communication skills, resilience and the ability to remain calm and positive under pressure.
