This is a great opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager to join an agile and progressive international law firm with responsibility for the Insurance sector.
The role holder will need to develop a thorough an in-depth understanding of the market and will develop and implement sector strategy, client plans and manage associated budgets. You will work with external research companies, commissioning and interpreting market and competitor research to inform sector strategy and BD activity and proactively measure and analyse overall financial performance at a client level and feed in data to key stakeholders to inform decision making. You will be responsible for identifying market opportunities, both UK and internationally, and work with fee earners to develop and sell new products and services. The role holder will work with the Client Engagement Programme Team and Bids Team to ensure client targeting and client growth is being executed and driven through the sector, across key jurisdictions, coaching partners and other fee earners to support client meetings both internally and in client facing environments, and working with the Bid Team to identify pursuits and prepare for panel reviews providing strategic input to the subsequent bid process and directory entries. You will also liaise with the Client Listening Team to drive client feedback through the sector and ensure that feedback is monitored and service delivery refined as appropriate. On the marketing side, the Business Development Manager will help develop campaigns around service lines, agreeing the best routes to market, appropriate collateral and relevant KPIs and must ensure that the profile and positioning of the services line are effectively communicated, both internally and externally across the appropriate mix of media channels.
The chosen candidate will have a good academic background or equivalent with previous legal or professional services experience to include experience of working in the insurance industry or related fields. The Business Development Manager must also have proven experience of instigating and leading change programmes and of creating both client plans and strategic business plans and driving the implementation of their delivery. Highly organised, with high levels of numeracy and analysis and outstanding communication skills, it is essential that the Business Development Manager is highly credible with the ability to influence, challenge and coach senior stakeholders.
