Life Sciences has been identified as a key growth area for the firm and the team is seeking to meet ambitious targets supported by significant investment. It is an exciting time to join this team, be embedded amongst a strong community of committed lawyers and non-lawyers and to be part of its success. It will be your responsibility to drive forward initiatives that you feel would directly impact on the success of the sector. With line management responsibility for a Business Development Executive, you will lead the formulation and management of the BD budget and ensure the firm is getting the best ROI from the budget. You will be expected to Liaise with the Head of Advanced Manufacturing & Technology sector and other Heads of BD and BDMs to share best practice and coordinate BD activity to facilitate collaborative working between Practices and Sectors. Providing day to day support to the leaders of the Life Sciences Sector on the wide range of BD initiatives they undertake, the Business Development Manager will be heavily involved in strategic business planning and the development of CRM programs and will play both a lead advisory and 'hands-on' role in coordinating and shaping proposals and credential statements, as well as leading and advising on designated "must win" pursuits and opportunities. The successful candidate will also be responsible for developing thought leadership campaigns, managing the profile of the sector by ensuring effective use of all communication channels and overseeing legal directory submissions, web site material, credentials database and case study material.
Pre-requisites for this role include an outstanding academic record or equivalent allied to proven business development experience in a similar role gained in a partnership environment, to include significant team management. Life Sciences sector experience will be paramount. The Business Development Manager will also possess impeccable communication skills and gravitas with senior stakeholders.
