One of the largest professional services firms in the world is looking for an experienced, credible and highly motivated Business Development Manager to offer support to the Private Business Sales & Marketing team. The role holder will be based in either Edinburgh or Glasgow.
The New Business team focus on building relationships with target clients, generating new business opportunities in the market and promoting sales effectiveness and best practice across the firm. The team takes responsibility for ensuring that all new business development activity delivers return on investment and profitable revenue. The Business Development Manager will be tasked with driving new business development activity within the Scotland region focusing on the Private Business market. You will be expected to establish a network of commercial relationships and a pipeline of new business opportunities, providing the catalyst for revenue growth. You will lead business development activity across a portfolio of targets and clients throughout the geography, working closely with the key Partners across all service lines and Private Business leadership to drive profitable revenue growth. The successful candidate will possess the experience and professionalism to be credible in the market, as well as to challenge and influence senior management internally, and be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the strategic business drivers for the firm. The role holder will be expected to develop a thorough understanding of clients' key issues and relevant propositions, ensuring the delivery of the full breadth of the firm for their benefit and must establish themselves as the focal point of all BD activity. You will also be responsible for coaching Partners on business development best practice, delivering key national Sales Campaigns as required and ensuring messages & learning's from client feedback are shared and acted upon. Accurately recording all business development in the firm's CRM system to evidence performance and ROI will represent an important part of the role.
The Business Development Manager will be of graduate calibre or equivalent with a proven ability to drive and develop a pipeline of opportunities in a complex organisation with service focused propositions and an expert understanding of targeting and lead generation, with the ability to implement both strategic and tactical initiatives. Strong knowledge of Pursuit, SPIN, Miller Heiman or another relationship/sales methodology along with evidence of using in practice to drive opportunities through to revenue will be essential as is the ability to build networks with Partners and staff at all levels across the firm. In addition, creativity and innovative thinking allied to excellent influencing and powerful communication skills will be key to success in this exciting role.
