One of the largest professional services firms in the world is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Business Development Manager to drive new business development activity within the South East region, centred on St Albans, focusing on the Private Business market.
The South East Sales & Marketing team deliver the firms market strategy locally and is made up of a group of marketing, proposals and new business professionals. Reporting to the Private Business Sales and Marketing Leader and acting as the focal point of all business development activity, this role will focus on driving new business development activity for Private Business and will work with key stakeholders internally to identify, develop and convert new business opportunities. The Business Development Manager will be expected to establish a network of commercial relationships and a pipeline of new business opportunities, driving the pursuit process through to conclusion. The successful candidate will be expected to implement best practice to expand the firm's relationships across the portfolio and drive new opportunities. You will drive client facing activity by identifying opportunities and securing meetings within the portfolio and will also manage a portfolio of key targets consisting of a blend of existing clients and new opportunities. The role holder will need to attend relevant client and intermediary events to network and represent the firm in the market, developing an understanding of key client issues and the relevant propositions that are successfully generating revenue. You will also be responsible for coaching Partners on business development best practice, delivering key national Sales Campaigns as required and ensuring messages and learning's from client feedback are shared and acted upon. Accurately recording all business development in the firm's CRM system to evidence performance and ROI will represent an important part of the role.
The Business Development Manager will be of graduate calibre or equivalent with a proven ability to drive and develop a pipeline of opportunities in a complex organisation with service focused propositions and an expert understanding of targeting and lead generation, with the ability to implement both strategic and tactical initiatives. Strong knowledge of Pursuit, SPIN, Miller Heiman or another relationship or sales methodology along with evidence of using in practice to drive opportunities through to revenue will be essential as is the ability to build networks with Partners and staff at all levels across the firm. In addition, creativity and innovative thinking allied to excellent influencing and powerful communication skills will be key to success in this exciting regional role.
