A niche City law firm is looking for a Business Development Manager to join a hardworking and robust team who deal with a full spectrum of tasks including seminars, events, publications, press and PR, tenders and various marketing initiatives.
The successful applicant will work within the Business Development team, co-ordinating the tender and bid process and providing an advisory role to Partners on tender strategy. You will be responsible for the overall coordination of the complete tender process, challenging Partners and developing innovative approaches. You will review OJEU notices, highlighting opportunities to relevant teams, arrange kick-off meetings and set deadlines, complete Pre-Qualification Questionnaires, draft ITT content to a high standard and keep track of tender results and feedback. You will also maintain an up to date precedents library of past tenders and relevant admin schedules including Value Added Benefit offerings and Framework Agreement expiry dates. In addition you will work with Partners and departmental teams to create presentations for interview stages and arrange pre-interview practice sessions and provide ad-hoc training and advice on tender presentations. Other key responsibilities of the role will include contributing to the client relationship management programme with client and sector research, supporting the CSR team with initiatives offered in tenders and managing and drafting submissions for Legal 500 and Chambers Legal Directories.
You will be degree educated or equivalent, possibly with a professional marketing qualification, and must have previous experience of the tender process within a law firm, including working in an editorial capacity as part of the tender process. The successful candidate will need to be an energetic, driven and focused individual with the ability to quickly establish rapport with internal clients and stakeholders and manage internal and external relationships and will be able to work with people at all levels within the business, dealing with difficult internal clients in an appropriate and professional manner. The Business Development Manager will also be highly organised, proactive and results orientated with excellent written and oral communication skills.
