A global management consultancy has a vacancy for an experienced business development professional to join its London office in a Business Development Manager role focused on driving the growth of the UK Transport and Power sectors through the provision of BD advisory and support.
The role holder will work with the firm's senior leadership team to drive growth through positioning, bidding, brand enhancement, pipeline generation and key account management. The Business Development Manager will occupy a key position within the London team, responsible for driving growth and key strategic business initiatives. This is a hands-on role but you will need to lead strategically, retaining an ability to see the bigger picture along with a commitment to excellence and a determination to always deliver. On the BD side, the successful applicant will offer pipeline support, manage complex sector bids, provide client support for national key clients and also support key account managers to create enduring relationships with the firm's existing clients. There will be broader strategic marketing responsibilities including devising and executing a marketing and communication plan, national and global campaign support, brand compliance and advocacy and award strategy and support.
You must be a bright graduate or equivalent and a driven and pro-active BD specialist, with experience across business development, marketing and bidding gained within a professional services firm, ideally within the built environment. The Business Development Manager must be able to communicate credibly and effectively about both the infrastructure market and marketing and BD best practice and engage with and influence Board level stakeholders and external contacts. Other prerequisites include a positive 'can do' approach and the abilities to project manage and deliver to deadlines whilst working under pressure.
