Purpose of the role:

Lead the Business Development, Bid Management and Marketing teams through articulation and ownership of the end-to end customer acquisition process including brand and market engagement, customer identification, bid process management and prospect conversion.


Business Development

· Create and execute a business development strategy to secure profitable, new sales from target channels

· Through effective consultative sales engagement, build a short/ mid/ and long term new business pipeline – understanding buying needs, key stakeholders, influencers and decision criteria

· Responsible for the overall management of all strategic and operational business development activities

·Research and build relationships with new clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging personal and business networks

·Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure all commitment are delivered on, post-sale

· Communicate status of sales initiatives to the Board through monthly and quarterly sales reports

Bid Management

Lead the Bid Management function ensuring all bids clearly and effectively articulate the value of CTE’s proposition aligning response to the needs of the prospective customer.


·To set and lead the direction of the company’s brand, marketing and communication strategy, in support of the wider business vision and objectives.

·Responsibility for the company’s overall brand, marketing and communication activities, overseeing the development and delivery of a fully integrated marketing strategy and plan.

Experience Needed:

Strategic thinking – evaluate the wider environment, offering insights to influence change at tactical, team and individual level, making informed strategic decisions. Develop a prioritised plan to deliver the needs of the business, supporting the strategy, and then deliver this to plan.

Market and environment – apply understanding of the business and market drivers to tailor customer offerings. Devise reporting tools to gain insight into market / customer trends and performance. Identify customer and competitor strengths and weaknesses to influence decisions.

Process management – set-up processes to deliver successful outcomes, using measures to assess effectiveness. Identify opportunities to optimise ways of working and influence others to make improvements.

Business relationships – work with stakeholders to develop and drive efficiency improvements and opportunities for business growth. Understands what we are trying to create and or fix, building solutions and a plan based at the root cause.

Project management – lead the development and delivery of complex projects that may impact across multiple teams, including evaluating and communicating impacts of project dependencies.

Collaboration and partnering – lead and be part of cross-functional business initiatives and encourage relationships across the business and Group.

Coaching and mentoring – drive strategic training initiatives to enhance the whole organisation; lead and influence the broader development planning process.

Driving performance – lead in driving enhanced performance management throughout the whole organisation.

Change management – strategically design selection and implementation of organisational changes which drive and exceed wider business objectives. Be an advocate for change.
