BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – FMCG

£25,000 - £30,000 + BONUS + CAR + MOBILE + LAPTOP + PENSION

My client is an independent, family owned and managed business producing products of the highest quality within the FMCG Food & Drink marketplace. The role we are recruiting for is a Business Development Manager based in Yorkshire.

The Role

  • Business Development within predominantly the Foodservice marketplace but also a focus on Retail
  • To provide Customer growth & development for the Company through efficient and effective Business Development and Sales activity, in line with the Company Commercial Development (Sales & Marketing) Plan, for Customer, Sector, Turnover and Margin development.
  • To effectively develop relationships with new customers, ensuring the customer and business expectations and capabilities are aligned.
  • Manage full sales process from cold calls to close, including prospecting and generating leads
  • Meet set KPIs set by sales manager
  • To effectively drive growth and manage strategic sales, whilst maintaining and enhancing product margins for the company.

The Candidate

  • At least 2 years’ experience in lead generation / B2B sales within the FMCG Foodservice marketplace
  • Established field sales experience.  Preference with food manufacturing sales experience but will consider key account experience.
  • Proven track record of opening new accounts and maintaining and growing accounts
  • Strategic Sales and Business Development Planning
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills with an ability to provide a passionate and competent argument around the key USP’s of the products
  • A self-starter who is motivated by success
  • Exceptional communication skills – persuasive personality and a good active listener
  • A dynamic individual looking for success
  • Proven business acumen with a focus on profit
  • Able to demonstrate initiative, drive and enthusiasm
  • A team player is essential.
  • Candidates must be based within a commutable distance of York
