Based in Manchester, this is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative law firm as a Business Development Manager. Working closely with lawyers in the Manchester office and the wider BD team, this role will involve providing day-to-day, hands-on marketing and BD support and advice in order to coordinate and drive forward BD initiatives and client relationships.

The role holder will be responsible for progressing specific Manchester focused projects and initiatives and thus will need a good working knowledge of the North West market. This role will require a high calibre individual to work with lawyers to plan, implement and project manage focused business development activities, linking closely with the firm's national service line and sector plans. Guiding and training lawyers in BD tools and techniques, the BD Manager will develop and support core client relationships for the Manchester office and the wider strategic client list. You will build and maintain a database of client contacts and details, carry out client and market analysis and work with the central bids team to produce effective pitch materials and help coach partners in pitch presentations. On the marketing communications side, you will be responsible for managing the production of marketing materials, assist in the evaluation of marketing campaigns, draft annual directory submissions and design and deliver local events that meet the group's BD objectives.

This role would suit a very bright graduate or equivalent with a proven track record in marketing and BD gained in a professional services environment. The Business Development Manager will be determined and self-motivated with outstanding communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills. Enthusiastic, confident and robust, the ideal candidate must work well under pressure to drive through major projects to completion and will be able to generate and develop new ideas to add value to the business development process.
