Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) Marketing is dedicated to bringing buyers and sellers together and transforming how American Express is welcomed. GMNS Marketing is responsible for partnering with markets to drive profitable growth, accelerate coverage and enhance the value of Amex acceptance to merchants and Card Members at scale.

We focus on enhancing our relationships with millions of merchants of all shapes and sizes, and our geographic purview includes many commerce hubs across the globe including the U.S, Canada, Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. It is also critical for GMNS Marketing to collaborate effectively with Card Issuing teams and other sister organizations across American Express including Client Management, Marketing Operations, Information Management, Enterprise Digital, Global Advertising and Brand Management and World Service in order to fully harness the power of the closed loop via mediums including Custom Consulting, Offers, Recommendations, Multi-Merchant Campaigns, Digital Experiences and Brand Awareness.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to work with some of our largest and most strategically important merchants across EMEA. The Global Client Group (GCG) comprises leading Merchants across Airlines, Lodging, Car Rentals, Luxury Retail & Online sectors including brands such as Hilton, BA, LVMH, Chanel and Apple.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:

*

Delivery against individual and team targets for Business Insights engagement with GCG Merchants across luxury retail and lodging portfolios

*

Partner with Client Managers at an EMEA, industry and individual level to identify, prioritise and engage new opportunities within their merchant portfolios

*

Lead BI customer engagements and ensure client satisfaction, managing projects through scoping, production and delivery

*

Work in close collaboration with the Marketing team to build integrated Merchant plans and strategies, driving actionable insights to be included in Merchant marketing activity

*

Provide insights to support client management with key GCG contract renegotiations, and demonstrate value to merchants

*

Leveraging insights to support the GCG Marketing & Business Insights team with key projects to drive growth and merchant satisfaction (NPS)

*

Work in close partnership with the Centre of Excellence (COE) team to develop customized and automated business insights solutions for merchants

Offer of employment with American Express is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background verification check, subject to applicable laws and regulations.

Qualifications

The following are required for this position:

*

Bachelors Degree (or equivalent) preferably in marketing

*

Proven results driver with strong experience in consulting sales / business development

*

Strong commercial mindset and acumen

*

Highly developed analytical skills with proven experience in managing and manipulating large amounts of consumer data to deliver compelling qualified strategic and marketing insights for senior stakeholders

*

Strong communication skills and ability to present complex projects in a clear and powerful manner to a broad range of senior customer stakeholders

*

Ability to understand merchant needs and consultatively guide them to select the relevant business solution
