Why this role matters

The Business manager role is a key element in the effective operation of the Commercial and Marketing function covering operations, supporting engagement and communications, tactical projects and effective reporting. The role holder will gain unique insight at this level into the workings of a large department.

This is quite a unique Business Manager role with less focus on logistical matters and more focus on enabling change within the C&M organisation, supporting the MD to ensure we deliver on our goals & transform the way we operate.

What you'll be doing

• Support operational execution of the C&M plan developed by the Leadership Team through effective management and alignment of the actions and plans of the leadership team
• Advisor to the MD supporting the achievement of the strategic objectives and helping the MD to work effectively with customer-facing and enabling functions
• Co-ordinate and manage a variety of tactical projects (both recurring and ad-hoc) from initiation through delivery
• Track performance of C&M to our defined goals and KPIs
• Briefing and preparing content for the MD for a variety of engagements
• Manage the weekly cadence of the Leadership Team most notably the identification and cascading of actions
• Work with the MD PA on organisation of key business events (normally internal team events and operational reviews)
• Support the development

• Business managers able to understand strategic objectives and translate into an implementable series of actions
• Experience of working in a fast paced and dynamic environment
• Experience of working globally across cultures and business disciplines
• Experience in delivering work in tight timescales under pressure and to brief.
• Track record of effective networking and building strong working relationships- particularly with senior stakeholders

This role requires the ability to:
• navigate through a business with a large degree of ambiguity and distil insight to present a clear rational argument
• display exceptional communication and organisational/project management skills.
• influence senior stakeholders through persuasion rather than seniority
• remain calm and focused in a high-pressure environment and with senior stakeholders
• deliver to tight time scales
• holding others to account, whilst consistently delivering on their own commitments
• deliver and drive detailed plan and actions in a thorough and structured way
• Business managers able to understand strategic objectives and translate into an implementable series of actions
• Experience of working in a fast paced and dynamic environment
• Experience of working globally across cultures and business disciplines
• Experience in delivering work in tight timescales under pressure and to brief.
• Track record of effective networking and building strong working relationships- particularly with senior stakeholders
