Category Analyst

You will join us as a Category Analyst to work in the Insights team and manage the primary research process, as well as tracking business development, working across both of our client's brands. Ongoing tracking and analysing of the market, retailer and product performance, while identifying opportunities for business development.

Category Analyst Responsibilities:

- Manage the primary and secondary market research process, including briefing, tendering and interpreting the final results for an internal audience
- Producing standardised reports for the business, and tracking account, product and promotional performance
- Tracking seasonal performance and creating in-depth reviews
- Managing and owning the consumer KPI tracking through Kantar
- Tracking competitor activity, including promotions and new product launches
- Support in tracking effectiveness of new marketing initiatives including new POS development, in store activity, TV campaigns etc.
- Working with the Marketing and Sales functions to provide support and information when required

Category Analyst Requirements:

- Business, numerical or marketing degree desirable
- Experience in project management role preferred
- Experience in working with primary research preferred
- Experience working in an analytical role, preferable within an FMCG company
- Ability to motivate self to achieve deadlines
- Excellent organisational, communication and analytical skills
- Professional and confident persona (at all levels)
- Advanced levels of Microsoft office suite (particularly PowerPoint and Excel)

They are the world’s biggest manufacturer of fruit gums and liquorice products, and entered the UK market in 1972 when it acquired a majority stake in the English firm Dunhill’s (Pontefract).

Location: Castleford, West Yorkshire
