Category Assistant

Elevation have partnered with a fantastic consumer products organisation as they look to bring in a new Category Assistant who is keen to develop their category management skills and grow in the role.

The company are in Yorkshire and you will be expected to come to the office 2 days per week

Reporting into the Category Manager you will be responsible for:

*Product monitoring, including the review of stock levels, raising orders and maintaining strong lines of communication with suppliers and internal teams
*Review sales, margin and overall performance data for designated product ranges within the portfolio
*Research product categories to support catalogue selection and deletes
*Provide specs, codes and produce briefing documentation that supports the creative development of product packaging, POS, merchandising and product instructions, etc.
*Checking any such artworks that fall under the Landscape category remit
*Assistance and attendance of exhibitions, photoshoots and sales meetings when necessary
*Led by the Category Manager, attend supplier meetings and visit factories/trade fairs

What specific technical knowledge and competencies does the Job Holder require?

*A background in category marketing, buying, retail or product
*Ideally a minimum of 1 year's relevant experience in a retailer/supply environment
*Degree or professional qualification not necessary but advantageous
*Comfortable in front of the sales team/suppliers/customers
*Flexibility to working hours advantageous due to seasonal demands
*Ability to travel to suit the needs of the role
