The Company is the UK's Chartered body for the science and profession of occupational hygiene and a leading national voice for worker health protection. Occupational hygiene is the scientific discipline that protects people against the wide range of health risks that can arise from exposures to hazardous substances or conditions at work. They are a growing organisation with over 1500 members and 20 staff; A Royal Charter Company and registered charity, engaged at both national and international level; influencing policy, raising awareness, publishing research, supporting our members, and championing education and standards. They have a Faculty responsible for the maintenance of professional standards, which is also the only UK awarding body for occupational hygiene qualifications.
Following significant growth and modernisation in recent years the Company has embarked on an ambitious new 5-year strategy, which includes the launch of a new Faculty and the Breathe Freely campaign to raise awareness about occupational lung disease. They are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual who wants to start a career in communications and marketing to join our team and help drive our vision forward.
Purpose of the Role:
The purpose of the role is to support the Head of Communications and Marketing in the execution of BOHS' strategy and running all aspects of the department.
This is an exciting role for someone who has some communications and/or marketing experience and wishes to further their career in the field by being involved in a small organisation where they will have the opportunity to grow in all areas of marketing and leave their mark.

You will display a passion for communications and marketing with a drive to succeed in the field. You will have a positive, can-do attitude and be ready to hit the ground running. You will have good organisational and project management skills. You will also have a natural flair for creative writing for different channels (online and offline) and great attention to detail.
This is a demanding role, requiring commitment and application. Your people and relationship skills will be important in interacting across and beyond the organisation with a wide range of stakeholders.
