Communications Assistant 

Our client is a national charity that supports prisoners, people with convictions, their children and families. 

Position: Communications Assistant 
Location: Central Office. London (SE5) 
Job Type: Part Time, Permanent 
Hours: 22.5 per week 
Salary: £13,000 (FTE £23,000)

About the role: 

Reporting to the Marketing & Communications Manager, you will provide flexible support across a diverse range of communications activities for a wide range of audiences. Responsibilities include updating their website information for prisoners' families, print production of marketing collateral, assisting with drafting and sub-editing copy, proof reading, and keeping our client’s social media up to date with fresh, engaging content. 
About you: 

To be successful in this role you must be an articulate and confident communicator. You will have a very good command of clear written English. You appreciate what makes good copy so that it engages the attention and interest of their different audiences, including prisoners, people with convictions, their children, adult family members, and potential donors and volunteers. You will be well- organised, thorough, meticulous and have excellent attention to detail. You will work co-operatively and effectively with colleagues in the team, their service delivery staff, service users, suppliers, and others. 

You will have strong ICT skills, be confident in the use of social media and digital communications, and have an awareness of data security and the need for careful management of information. You will be flexible, adaptable, able to prioritise when juggling multiple tasks, and keen to learn and develop as part of successful growing charity. 

You will share their values, be honest, reliable, have high standards of personal integrity, and want to enable them to achieve their charitable mission through delivering engaging and impactful communications.
