An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Communications Executive to join the London office of a leading US law firm on a 12 month fixed term contract basis.
This is a new role for the firm's London office and, while the role is mostly focused on London, there will be close liaison with the firm's global communications and media team in New York. The role holder will also provide advice and support to the firm's European, Middles East and Asian offices. The Communications Executive will work closely with the Media Relations Manager in London drafting content to be used in across the full range of marketing channels. The successful candidate will be expected to provide a high quality service to the organisation, building excellent internal relationships and promoting the importance of external media profile to the partnership. Specific responsibilities will include drafting press releases and complementary client and internal communications; anticipating and managing potential negative coverage or sensitive issues; monitoring media mentions and planning improvements; working with partners to identify topics on which they can comment, organising interviews and phone calls as necessary; ensuring client communications are co-coordinated with media communications; supporting the process for awards submissions and awards dinners; and reviewing conferences and other opportunities for the firm to promote and position itself and grow client relationships.
The ideal candidate will be self-starting, enthusiastic and motivated team player with the ability to work with and motivate lawyers to become involved in the process of communicating with the media and a strong ability to pitch story ideas and profiles effectively. The Communications Executive will also have previous European media relations, PR, communications and editorial experience to include producing media or content plans and implementing actions. In addition candidates should enjoy multi-tasking and juggle priorities with confidence.
