We are Haymarket Media Group. We’re a leading international specialist media, information and technology business with over 60 market-leading brands, and offices across six countries - including the US, India and Hong Kong.

Headquartered in Twickenham, we have 60 years of heritage in developing brands which live at the heart of the communities they serve. We’re redefining modern media: our world-class talent is innovating new ways to connect with audiences and monetise brands.

Those award-winning brands include What Car?, PistonHeads, Campaign, PRWeek, Management Today, MyCME, Finance Asia and many more. They are supported by our professional services group, which includes HR, Communications, Learning & Development, Facilities, Production and IT.

Key responsibilities

Based at the company’s headquarters in Twickenham, this comms role reports directly to the Director of Communications but will work closely with a number of teams and key stakeholders across the Group - notably the Recruitment and Learning & Development teams.

You will be fundamental to bringing Haymarket’s communications strategy to life day to day, owning key digital content channels including the company’s intranet and social media platforms - as well as implementing its social responsibility strategy.

Balancing a good degree of autonomy with an ability to work within established and virtual teams, you will be responsible for generating daily must-read content for an intranet serving an international audience. You’ll also be bringing the Haymarket employee value proposition and its innovation agenda to life for the outside world through social channels and the company site.

Strong journalistic and content skills are a priority, as well as multimedia content creation skills - balanced with a good understanding of PR, a self-starting organisational mindset and strong networking skills. Haymarket is a creative media business and this is the ideal role for someone with flair and imagination, hungry to embark on a career in communications and the media.

Specific Responsibilities:

Working closely with the Comms Director you will take a leading role:

* Writing, creating and commissioning daily content for the company intranet. Developing UK and international comms champions, and finding creative content franchises to allow Haymarket brands and people to share their stories.

* Managing a weekly CEO newsletter including multimedia content (and potentially developing other newsletter opportunities), analysing metrics to consistently improve engagement.

* Implementing a social media strategy across Haymarket’s Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Glassdoor channels. Working with internal stakeholders to develop EVP campaigns and the multimedia content to deliver on that strategy.

* Developing trade and business press PR campaigns for specific brands in the UK portfolio.

* Owning the day to day running of the company website - javascript:void(0); - ensuring that it is on brand, accurate and reflects the company’s vision and values.

* Running the day to day implementation of Haymarket UK’s charity partnership and social responsibility strategy.

* Supporting the Comms Director and other key stakeholders in developing and organising pillar events in the Haymarket calendar including Awards, internal conferences and social events.

* Creating posters campaigns and other appropriate comms content for UK central teams including Facilities, IT and HR.

* Owning the maintenance of key company documents - eg Comms Tool Kits, Brand Lists etc.

Successful candidates will have:

* Degree level qualification in Communications, Journalism, PR or associated vocational subject or equivalent professional experience.

* High level of organisational discipline and an ability to work with autonomy to a brief set by the Comms Director, as well as on projects and with other stakeholders.

* Good journalistic skills: ability to generate crisp and engaging content for consumer and business audiences, with a clear understanding of how to engage different audiences.

* Multimedia skills - ability to generate content on video and through engaging social tools. Photoshop, InDesign and/or video editing skills would be advantageous.

* Strong networking skills - forging positive relationships across the spectrum of the company with a focus on measurable results.

* High levels of attention to detail, a passion to understand, protect and enhance the company’s brand and resilience to get the job done, often under time pressure.
