Overall Job Purpose
Imagine is Immediate’s award-winning creative and content studio. We produce all commercial content across all platforms for our 79 premium brands, helping to win and deliver millions of pounds of partnership and creative solutions advertising revenue every year. In addition, we support all of Immediate’s central functions and corporate, including events, HR and comms. We also work with external clients, including Lonely Planet, delivering content and creative services.
We're looking for a top-notch Copywriter capable of working on a high volume of projects across our print, digital and social platforms. You'll be able to flit between different target audiences and house styles with ease, as one minute you may be writing recipe content for a client's microsite on Olive, and the next enthusing about the latest trend in wedding dresses for a print advertorial for You & Your Wedding.
You'll already be an experienced writer, having already worked in a digital and/or print publishing environment, with an understanding of the editorial process. As well as being flexible, you'll be versatile too, able to shape your copy to meet the needs of both client and editorial and take in client amends with a pragmatic and cool head.
You will also have demonstrated a knowledge of producing commercial content, whether it be editorial side, for a contract publisher or within a commercial content studio.
As a key member of Imagine's copy team you'll have an excellent eye for detail and will be comfortable checking and editing the work of your peers. You'll also be a mine of great ideas, as you'll frequently be asked to contribute to brainstorms for client campaigns and pitchwork.

At Immediate we love creative people who are passionate about what they do. We’re looking for an enthusiastic Copywriter to sit within our Imagine creative studio, working alongside other creative minds to produce brilliant ideas and industry-leading work.
You’ll be responsible for writing compelling copy for a broad client base across the entire Immediate portfolio. Among our titles are Radio Times, Olive, BBC Top Gear, Lonely Planet Traveller, and their clients include some of the world’s biggest and most recognisable brands.
Knowledge, Experience & Competencies
We're looking for somebody with the ability to write great commercial copy to deadline while understanding our differing brand styles. You'll need to be able to interpret and respond to a client brief in your copywriting and show that you can switch seamlessly between brand styles while managing multiple projects. Essentially you'll need to maintain a cool head during busier times and adapt your writing style to reflect the needs of different audiences across different touchpoints (digital, print, social).
You'll be big on accuracy – we need somebody who can produce copy that is free of mistakes and gramatically sound, and who is as comfortable checking and editing the work of others as they are writing. You'll be able to adapt your work to take in clients' changes and take on multiple editing tasks with confidence and ease.
We're looking for somebody who is as passionate about our brands as we are, and who can discuss their work with internal stakeholders and clients with confidence. Positive and outgoing, you'll be expected to form relationships with editorial to fully understand the house style of key brands.
IDEATION & BRAINSTORMS
A key part of this role is around ideation and you'll be expected to make a meaningful contribution to brainstorms, demonstrating that you can articulate an idea/concept in a way that gets people excited. You'll also need to show a confident and proactive attitude to problem solving.
