Our Milton Keynes office is seeking an ambitious Credit Risk Analyst to join our growing Risk area.
Within the Santander UK Risk Division, the Provisions & Forecasting team is responsible for estimating credit loss reserves and for forecasting future credit losses over a range of different scenarios and time horizons.
The team plays a key role in the determination of credit loss budgets for Santander UK and also provides the credit loss projections used in internal and external stress testing exercises including those requested by regulatory authorities.

As a Credit Risk Analyst your main responsibilities will be
* Ensuring the team delivers on its business as usual commitments for Retail including monthly reporting; Monitoring and updating highly complex statistical models for the calculation of IFRS9 provisions; weekly reporting; budget setting and re-forecasts.
* Improving processes on IFRS9 provisions calculations to support Finance in the calculation of business impacts (financial, operational, and technical); Identify risks and dependencies (systems, data, people).
* Supporting the Stress Testing team with ICAAP and EBA requests.
* Regular engagement with various departments such as Finance, Risk and Group.
* Supporting the Risk Manager and Head of Provision & Forecasting to ensure IFRS9 models are in line with End User Computing (EUC) and SOX standards and with day-to-day management of the wider team and issues that arise.
Minimum skills and experience required
* 2:1 achieved at degree level in a numerate subject (e.g. Maths, Statistics, Finance, Economics, Operational Research, Physics, Engineering) and/or equivalent qualifications / experience.
* Ability to synthesise complex issues and explain them easily to non-technical audiences.
* Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
* Statistical analysis using one or more of the following; (SAS, SQL, R, SPSS) is desirable.
* Any prior knowledge of Risk Management and loss reserve methodology would also be desirable.
