An excellent opportunity has arisen for an exceptional Business Development and CRM specialist to join a friendly and supportive international law firm to take responsibility for central government.
The firm have identified the need to create the firm's first dedicated Client Relationship Manager in an exciting development of the firm's Client Relationship Management Programme. The successful applicant will work alongside client relationship partners focusing on central government. The work the firm does for central government departments and their agencies is some of the most complex and prestigious public sector work available. The work straddles multiple service lines and involves a number of different partners across the firm. The aim is to grow this work and better leverage existing relationships. You will work with the partners to develop and deliver this strategy, ensuring a coordinated approach to the client, identifying the key decisions makers, and working with the parameters of the existing procurement frameworks. The role involves working with key stakeholders throughout the firm both within the fee earning teams and Business Support including Business Development, Business Intelligence and Pricing, Knowledge, Learning and Innovation teams. In addition , the role holder will support the business development activity the Real Estate, Pensions and Employment, Competition and Tax streams. Currently this activity is undertaken by the partners supported by PSL, central Business Development teams and other support functions. The firm have identified a need for this support to be supplemented with more strategic oversight especially in relation to the identification and leadership of key projects. This newly created role will work across each of these streams, liaising closely with the current support functions and with others in the wider BD team to help develop and deliver a go to market proposition for each stream.
The role holder will join a highly regarded BD team and will find themselves in an excellent environment in which to develop. It will require an excellent academic background allied to substantial marketing and business development experience, preferably in a law firm. Experience of working with central government and an understanding of the procurement frameworks is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will be a pro-active, analytical and numerate team player, with a high attention to detail and strong communication, influencing and people skills as the ability to persuade and convince at a very senior level internally is essential. In addition, the CRM & BD Manager will thrive whilst working under pressure and be able to demonstrate a previous track record of prioritising and delivering complex and multiple projects to tight deadlines.
